In summer 2010, I painted several notions of a model, Jerome. This is an alla prima painting capturing his features that day as the sun’s light raked across his face from the east to the west. I tried to maintain Jerome’s likeness while examining color changes from the light. I found his beard to be his most prominent feature this seating.
