The intention of this painting was to capture the inner energy of Woman. I used a drawing of mine, rather than a model, for guidance. I wanted to convey a soft diffused body filling the canvas and radiating an energetic light from deep within her bones. I continue to be drawn to express our energetic source as dwelling within our organs and skeleton, here circulating its light through the thin flesh of the hands and arms. I usually paint faces because I find them to be authentic expressions of our lives. Perhaps her face is turned away to allow me to request that information from her core.
