This is the second seating I painted of Jerome in 2010. In this alla prima painting, I was most fascinated by his gaze rather than any physical attribute. I was painting what I felt emanating from behind his eyes as he looked upward toward the reflecting light. Perhaps it was his inner presence, or merely the angle of his eyes, but I feel something spiritual being conveyed by this pose.
